
Richard Tuttle has over 30 years experience as the CEO of a number of technology and environmental private ventures in Canada and the United States.
The following is a brief synopsis of his career:
The Investment Advisory Board will have final responsibility for authorizing each and every proposed investment that The Advisor brings forward prior to recommending the investment for completion and inclusion in the New Carbon Economy Fund.
The Board will receive, review and authorize a full Investment Recommendation Summary document from The Advisor for every proposed investment opportunity. Only those investments that are approved by the Board may be submitted to the fund for finalization.
Every Investment Recommendation Summary will be retained by both The Advisor and The Fund as a matter of record consistent with best governance practices.
The members of the Investment Advisory Board include:

David Knight was a co-founder of KBSH Capital Management in 1980. KBSH has extensive experience managing balanced and specialty asset class portfolios on behalf of institutional pension funds, foundations/endowments, managed accounts (WRAP), corporations and private clients. With many years of experience in investment research, portfolio management and client servicing, David’s key roles at KBSH were in business development and client servicing. The initial ten years of David’s investment career were with Massachusetts Financial Services in Boston where he analyzed and reported on twelve major industry groups and over three hundred major companies in the United States and Canada. Prior to graduate business school he was in the brand management group at Procter & Gamble.
Mr. Knight is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (B.A., B. Comm.) and Harvard University (M.B.A.), David is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute, the Toronto CFA Society, and the Boston Society of Financial Analysts.

Mr. Galloway joined the Royal Bank in 1968 where he spent his entire career before retiring in 1999 as Vice-Chairman. In this role, along with six others, he was responsible for the strategic direction of the Royal Bank Financial Group.
During his career, he held senior executive positions in group wealth management, corporate and investment banking, treasury and trading. Mr. Galloway is presently involved as both an investor and advisor with numerous emerging enterprises and serves as a board member with a number Canadian public and private companies and various educational and charitable organizations.

Executive Managing Director and Director of Investment Research BMO Nesbitt Burns.
Mike joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1987. Since then he has been involved in various Canadian and U.S. equity research capacities, including five years as manager of research. He assumed his current role of Director of Research in January 2000, and most recently added Corporate Debt and High Yield Research to his management.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto (1986) and a Master of Economics from the University of Western Ontario (1987). He has been a member of the board of directors of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.

Mr. Harris has over twenty years of experience in various entrepreneurial and senior operating roles within the technology industry. During his time with Laurence Group, Descartes, SAP and several entrepreneurial successes, his mandates have included evaluating and extending market reach, implementing process and standards, building strong sales and business development teams, brand and product management development and preparing companies for the next stage of growth. John has worked both in North America and internationally including EMEA, Asia Pacific and South America.
Today, he serves in many advisory roles for companies in the technology and other sectors. His experience has assisted companies to navigate through M&A activities, product management strategies, market facing challenges and raising of capital. Mr. Harris’ focus is always on growth and increasing real value to the stakeholders he serves.
Throughout his career he is proud to have worked successfully with world class clients including PepsiCo, The Coca-Cola Company, SABMiller Brewing, Frito-Lay (PepsiCo), McDonald’s, GlaxoSmithKline Inc., Bell ExpressVu, Bell Canada, Loyalty Group, Shoppers Drug Mart, Weston Group, Toyota Motor Corporation, RBC Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, Pilkington Plc., CIBC, CIBC Mellon, Perrier Group of America (Nestle), Suiza Foods, Dean Foods, Reckitt Benckiser, Domtar Inc., Noranda Inc. among others.
John graduated from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and represented Western in varsity hockey.

David Sharpless was born in Toronto in 1950. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1974 and upon graduation joined the law firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon, one of Canada’s largest law firms.
David spent more than 20 years as a Blakes partner practicing business law. He was regarded as one of Canada’s leading asset finance and securitization lawyers with extensive experience in international financial services, corporate governance, structured finance, private equity and mergers and acquisitions. At various times he was a member of the Executive Committee and Partnership Committee of the firm. During his legal career David wrote and lectured on a wide range of business law topics including corporate governance.
In 1997 David left Blakes to become Chairman of Newcourt Credit Group Inc. David was a member of the executive team responsible for directing and implementing Newcourt’s growth from a small private company to the world’s second largest public commercial finance company with operations in more than 25 countries and a TSX and NYSE listing.
Following the sale of Newcourt to CIT Group Inc., David assumed the role of President of CIT’s International Operations. He had strategic and P&L responsibility for all of CIT’s vendor finance operations outside the United States including Canada, Latin America, Asia Pacific, China, Australia and Europe. Through a combination of internal growth, acquisitions and restructuring, CIT became one of the world’s leading international vendor finance providers to a broad range of service, technology and manufacturing companies.
David was Chairman of Dell Financial Services, Inc. (a joint venture between Newcourt and Dell), Chairman of Yamaha Canada Finance Limited (a joint venture between Newcourt and Yamaha), Chairman of Image Financial Inc. (a joint venture between Newcourt and Canon) and a director of a number of manufacturing companies including Champion Road Machinery Inc. and Timberjack Inc., among others.
David left CIT in 2001 after its acquisition by Tyco.
In February of 2003 David joined Hunter Keilty Muntz & Beatty Limited as Chairman of HKMB Capital Solutions, a subsidiary of HKMB which provides specialized insurance products to capital markets transactions. In August of 2004 David was appointed Executive Chairman of the parent corporation, Hunter Keilty Muntz & Beatty Limited (“HKMB”), Canada’s largest privately owned property and casualty insurance broker. In January 2008, HKMB was acquired by HUB International, to form HKMB HUB International Limited.
In addition to his role at HKMB, David is a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Micromem Technologies Inc. (US listed company), a Director and member of the Audit Committee of TrustMark Auto Group Inc., (Canadian listed company), Chairman of the Advisory Board of The Commercial Capital Corporation, Chairman of the Independent Review Committee of AIC Limited, a newly formed committee responsible for overseeing the relationship between public fund managers and security holders, a member of the Advisory Board of Business Propulsion Systems Inc. and a director of the Canadian Lease and Finance Association and of Camp Oochegias (a camp for children affected by cancer). He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maverick Inc., a private investment and consulting firm.
David has completed the Chartered Directors Program offered by The Directors College founded by DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and now holds the designation of Chartered Director.
David is an avid skier, golfer and hockey player.
